Stoneware Clay 1109 Greyish white
[1209]
A popular clay which is exciting and unusual in its composition. The clay is added 10% sand, lavastones and ball clay. 1109 is very plastic and is good for throwing. NOTE! The amount of spots can differ from batch to batch due to the characteristics of the raw material. Sometimes the spots causing raised flecks on the surface of the fired ware. A sufficient glaze layer will 'flux' these flecks causing them to flatten out. Unglazed areas can be wet-sanded after firing. Copper precipitates may occur.
